About the Artist

Heading 3

TNancy Putnam Hunter was born in Shawnee Oklahoma and has lived there all her life.  A love of art and animals became very evident at a very young age.  Her mother encouraged her to sketch animals and learn all she could from art books.

Nancy entered Oklahoma Baptist University as a science major with the thought of a career in veterinary medicine, but her lifelong love of art caused her to change her major to art.  She graduated from OBU with a bachelor's degree in art.  Several years later she went to work as a veterinary assistant learning much about animal anatomy.  During this time, she had the rivilege of studying painting with Joyce Kreafle.  In 1989, Nancy left the veterinary field to return to OBU to continue her study of art.

Nancy is an award-winning artist who is internationally collected.  She is currently concentrating her efforts on ceramic pottery.
